Polley's Perfect Seasons installs Daikin ductless mini splits across Plainfield and Hendricks County, Indiana, starting at $3,995 installed. A ductless system heats and cools one room, or several, without any ductwork, using an outdoor condenser tied to a wall mounted indoor head by a refrigerant line set. The entry level system carries a 10 year parts and 3 year labor warranty, and systems above the entry level tier carry 12 year parts and 3 year labor.

What is a ductless mini split, and when does it beat a ducted system?

Two pieces of equipment do the work. Outside, a small condenser sits on a pad or a wall bracket. Inside, a head hangs high on the wall and blows conditioned air straight into the room. Connecting them is a bundled line set of two copper refrigerant lines, a control cable, and a condensate drain, all of it passing through a wall hole roughly three inches across.

Ductless wins whenever running duct to a space would cost more than the equipment itself. Additions built after the original house. Rooms at the far end of a trunk line that never get their share of air. Detached and attached garages with no duct at all. Basement offices. Attic conversions with 2x4 walls and nowhere to hide a supply run. If your existing furnace and air conditioner already keep the main floor comfortable, adding a ductless zone is usually cheaper and less invasive than reworking the duct system to chase one problem room.

Where ducted still wins: whole house replacement in a home that already has decent duct, and homes where a homeowner does not want visible indoor equipment. We will tell you honestly which side of that line your project falls on. If ducted is the better buy, we quote central air conditioning installation instead.

What does the $3,995 starting price cover?

It covers a Daikin single-zone system, fully installed. That means equipment, mounting hardware, the line set, refrigerant, startup, and commissioning, done by our own crew rather than a subcontractor, backed by a 10 year parts and 3 year labor warranty. Electrical work is not included in that number. A licensed electrical contractor provides the circuit and disconnect separately, and we tell you that up front rather than burying it in the quote.

Your final price comes down to two things: tonnage, meaning the capacity the space actually needs, and tier level, standard temperature or low temperature equipment. Low temperature units cost more because they keep producing real heat when Indiana drops into the single digits, which is the right call for a garage or workshop. Choosing a system above the entry level tier also upgrades the warranty to 12 year parts and 3 year labor.

Most companies in this area charge significantly more for a comparable ductless install. We are not going to guess at their numbers here, and you should not take our word for it either. Get a second quote and compare the equipment model, the zone count, and the warranty term line by line. That comparison is exactly why we publish the starting price at all. You can see the rest of our flat rates on the HVAC pricing page.

Why do two ductless quotes for the same house differ?

Tonnage and tier level set the equipment price. From there, the install details move the rest of the number:

  • Zone count. One head on one condenser is the base. Multi-zone condensers serving two to five heads cost more per zone in equipment but less per zone in labor.
  • Line set length. A head 12 feet from the condenser is a different job than a head 45 feet away on the opposite corner of the house. Longer runs mean more copper, more refrigerant, and sometimes a line hide cover on the exterior wall.
  • Mounting. Wall mount, floor mount, or ceiling cassette. Brick and stone exteriors take longer to core than vinyl siding. A condenser on a bracket above snow line is more work than one on a ground pad.
  • Tonnage and tier level. Capacity drives equipment cost, and so does the tier you choose. Standard temperature equipment is the base. Low temperature equipment costs more and holds output in deep Indiana cold.

We measure all of it before quoting. Electrical is quoted separately by a licensed electrical contractor, so it never shows up as a surprise line item from us. Nobody at Polley's Perfect Seasons prices a ductless job over the phone.

Why we install Daikin ductless equipment

Daikin Aurora, our cold climate pick for Indiana winters

Daikin has built ductless equipment longer than most of the brands now selling it, and their inverter compressors modulate rather than cycling hard on and off. In practice that means a room holds within a degree or two of setpoint instead of swinging, and the unit runs quiet enough that people forget it is on. Parts availability matters too. We stock and source Daikin components through the same supply chain we use for our ducted work, which keeps warranty repairs fast.

We are an established Daikin installer and do a large share of our whole house work with the same manufacturer. If you are weighing a full system replacement at the same time as a ductless zone, read our Daikin Fit installation page and we will price both together.

Three rooms Hendricks County homeowners call us about

Nearly every ductless call we take involves one of these three spaces. Each has its own sizing rules and its own gotchas, so we wrote them up separately.

Warranty coverage on every ductless install

The $3,995 entry level ductless system is backed by a 10 year parts and 3 year labor warranty. Move up from the entry level offer and the coverage becomes 12 year parts and 3 year labor. That is the whole term, stated plainly. We have been family owned and working in Hendricks County since 1995, out of shops in Plainfield and Clayton, Indiana, and a warranty is only worth the company standing behind it. Real install, start to finish

What a ductless mini split installation actually looks like

Every photo below is from the same Hendricks County area home: an aging outdoor unit removed, a line set cored through thick stone, and a Daikin ductless system left behind in its place.

  1. Polley's Perfect Seasons technician disconnecting an aging outdoor air conditioner at a stone home before a ductless mini split install
    1Before

The old condenser comes out first

The existing outdoor unit was oversized for the space it served and sat tight against the stone. We recover the refrigerant, pull the disconnect, and remove the old equipment before a single new component goes in.

  2. Core drilled hole through thick stone siding for a ductless mini split line set in Avon, Indiana
    2Core drilling

Coring through thick stone, not siding

This wall is real stone over block. Getting a line set through it means a diamond core bit, water, patience, and a hole placed exactly where the indoor head and the exterior run both work. It is the slowest part of the day and the part that decides how clean the finished job looks.

  3. Close up of a cored wall penetration with sleeve installed for a ductless mini split refrigerant line set
    3Sealed penetration

    A sleeved, pitched, sealed penetration

The bore gets a sleeve, a slight downward pitch to the outside so condensate never tracks back into the wall, and a full seal around the line set. Done right, you never think about this hole again.

  4. Finished Daikin ductless mini split outdoor unit on a composite pad with line hide cover on a stone house in Avon, Indiana
    4After

Daikin outdoor unit, less footprint, cleaner wall

The Daikin condenser sits on a composite pad, well clear of the grade, and the line set runs inside a paintable line hide cover straight up the wall. Smaller footprint than the unit it replaced, and nothing hanging loose against the stone.
